Reading about Arashi in local English newspaper is quite rare so I'm really excited to come across this article by Fong Leong Ming of News Straits Times (yup, one of the most read local English newspaper):
Just scroll down a bit and you'll see the Arashi. Its a small write up but the writer summed up very positively on Arashi. Hope to see more Arashi in Malaysian news!
"- Boyband Arashi has seen a steady rise in popularity in recent years and for good reason: They have just finished a successful Asian tour, all their four singles released this year have debuted at No.1 on the Japanese pop chart (with sales exceeding 350,000 copies for each single); their single truth/Kaze no Mukou e is currently riding high in Japan; and two of the members — Matsumoto Jun and Ninomiya Kazunari — have made a name for themselves as actors of note (the former stars in popular series Hana Yori Dango while the latter has a role in Clint Eastwood’s Letters From Iwo Jima.
Arashi made its debut in 1999 in Honolulu, making its mark with debut single A.RA.SHI, which became the theme song for a world-class volleyball tournament hosted by Japan the same year.
To date, the group has released 10 albums and 24 singles. Its latest single is Beautiful Days, which has been picked as the theme song for Japanese television drama Ryusei no Kizuna."
Unfortunately I didn't buy the NST on that particular date (21/12/2008).
If any Malaysian got a copy, do share a scan (or picture by mobile will do too)."
Thank you so much to kuronology</lj> for the scan!
Sorry for the crosspost.
THANK YOU MISS FONG FOR THE LOVELY WRITE UP! m(_ _)m
